The Chocolate Cake

This chocolate cake is just amazing and is made with inspiration from a recipe from Womensync. During the luteal and menstruation phases, us women usually crave that chocolate. That’s when this cake came into the picture. We crave that chocolate most often because we have a raised metabolism during this phase, also craving more magnesium, which can be found in cacao. Although eating a diet rich in added sugars, ultra processed foods and creating a unbalanced bloodglucose can increase someone's PMS symptoms and menstruation cramps. Hence, we wanted to share this amazing recipe that is filled with nutrients and feel-good ingredients for a balanced and healthy menstruation cycle.


1 cake

20 minutes

  • 10-12 fresh picked dates

  • 4 eggs

  • 3 dl almond flour

  • 5 tbsp cacao

  • 2-3 tbs real butter

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • A pinch of vanilla powder

  • A pinch of sea salt + on top of the cake

  • 1 dl chopped natural nuts ( half in the cake mix, other half on top)

Turn the oven on 175 degrees.

Mix all of the ingredients together, in a food processor or mixer, until smooth, except the nuts,

Now add half of the nuts and blend it in to the cake batter.

Then place a baking sheet in a baking tray and place the cake batter in the baking tray.

Top the cake with the rest of the nuts and some sea salt.

Now place the cake in the oven for 10-15 minutes depending on your oven and how sticky you like the cake.

Serve the cake as it is or with some whipped cream and berries.

You can also store it in the freezer, ready to eat whenever you get a craving for chocolate.
